Private lessons FOR ADULTS We offer private lessons for anyone interested in trying archery or improving their skills. We will even provide the equipment! Our USA Archery certified instructors will give you the attention you require! A private lesson costs $50, lasts one hour, and can be scheduled to your convenience! We allow up to 4 people in these sessions to assure everyone receives the attention they desire. Register Here Archery 101 Class (Ages 8 – 17) Length of time: Archery 101 is a one hour class held each for four consecutive weeks. Requirements: Must be at least 8 years of age at the start of the class. The participant need not bring anything to class but a good attitude. Genesis bows and arrows are supplied by La Crosse Archery. The class is meant to be fun! Purpose: This is an entry level class intended to get the participants enthusiastic about the sport of archery. In it the participant will learn: How to shoot safely Parts of the bow and arrow Proper archery form and body mechanics How to aim How to properly release the arrow with good follow-through How to score a target at 7 yards To shoot 20 arrows for a target game. Upcoming Archery 101 Sessions are on Mondays from 5:30 – 6:30 pm the cost for the 4 week session is $99. Equipment is not required. October 24, 31, November 7 & 14, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm November 21, 28, December 5 & 12, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm Register Here Archery 102 Class (Ages 8 – 17) Length of time: Archery 102 is a one hour class for four consecutive weeks. Requirements: Must be at least 8 years of age at the start of the class. The participant is expected to supply their own equipment. **Notice** It is expected that the participant show up to class with their bow already fitted, tuned and sighted in at 10 yards. If the equipment is purchased at La Crosse Archery this service is provided free with the bow purchase. If the equipment was purchased elsewhere, we can assist with sighting in the bow for a small fee. It is recommended that the participant spend an hour each week outside of class practicing. Purpose: This class is intended to teach the participant how to shoot their equipment. While everyone who takes this class will have fun, there is more “coaching” emphasis as the participant is taught to shoot well. In these sessions the participant will learn: A review of the safety systems What the sight picture looks like when aiming the bow Further emphasis on good shooting form, to include a focus on grip torque To properly release an arrow with good follow-through To achieve tighter arrow groupings – 4 ring and in To shoot a 60 arrow target match in the final class Upcoming Archery 102 Sessions are on Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm the cost for the 4 week session is $99. You must have completed Archery 101 and have your own equipment for this class. 2022 Classes will be on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. October 25, November 1, 8 & 15, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. November 22, 29, December 6 & 13, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Register Here Archery 103 Class (Ages 8 – 17) Length of time:Archery 103 is a one hour class spread over seven weeks. It is expected that the participants practice on their own for at least 2 hours in between class sessions. A pass for free shooting at La Crosse Archery during the class off weeks is included for the participants. The class schedule is as follows: Week 1 – 103 Class Week 2 – 2 hours independent practice Week 3 – 103 Class Week 4 – 2 hours independent practice Week 5 – 103 Class Week 6 – 2 hours independent practice Week 7 – Final 103 Class Requirements: Must be at least 8 years of age and able to shoot competently out to 20 yards and possess the mechanical skills to adjust their equipment. The participant must have completed Archery 102 and/or have consulted with La Crosse Archery staff and have demonstrated the ability to shoot to 20 yards. Purpose: Archery 103 is intended to give participant the “keys to the car”. In other words, the participant will learn to adjust and maintain their equipment. The participant will also learn: How to adjust the bow sight. This include starting from scratch, adding the sight to the bow and getting set for 20 yards. Breakdown . . . repeat. Proper care of the bowstrings and cables. Learn what to watch for. Setting the sight for 30 yards & beyond. Improving on shooting skills learned in Archery 102. Upcoming Archery 103 Sessions are on Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm the cost for the 7 week session is $150. You must have completed Archery 102 and can shoot out to 20 yards. Register Here Home-school Archery Groups From your very first class at La Crosse Archery Academy, you will begin developing your shooting form and learning to group arrows. Our knowledgeable instructors will work with you to instill the basics of archery and to develop your confidence and competence on the range, creating a solid foundation of knowledge and skill that will allow you to progress in this exciting sport. Archery is an ideal sport for even the youngest competitors, as it provides opportunities for growth, achievement and camaraderie. Boys and girls will develop upper body strength in an active, supportive environment that fosters social skills and provides training in a sport they can enjoy throughout their lives.
